Bill of Materials
The Universal Bill of Materials is a base list common to all builds. Additional components (including fasteners) are listed separately below.

- These links are not an endorsement and are for reference only.
- The design allows for longer-than-specified screws in many locations. The assembly guide notes where substitutions can be made.
- Wiring is only specified for the IEC power socket, power switch, and power supply. Additional wiring and fusing considerations are configuration-specific.
Universal Bill of Materials
These parts are common to all case builds. See below for additional requirements based on configuration.
Item | Qty | UOM | Note |
---|---|---|---|
PLA+ or PETG filament | 2 | kg | Typical use is less than 1.5kg (PLA+). |
TPU 95A filament | 0.05 | kg | Optional. Quantity is maximum estimated. |
16 awg/1.25mm stranded hookup wire | 0.5 | m | Prefer red. |
Spade connectors, 14-16 awg, Female, Insulated | 3 | ea | |
Fork connectors, 14-16 awg, #8, Insulated | 1 | ea | Ring connectors can be used as well. |
IEC C14 socket with fuse | 1 | ea | |
Glass Fuse, 5x20mm | 1 | ea | See note below. |
Compatible power switch | 1 | ea | See the Power Switch section. |
Compatible MCU | 1 | ea | See the Supported Parts list. |
Compatible display | 1 | ea | See the Supported Parts list. |
Compatible PSU | 1 | ea | See the Supported Parts list. |
Note: Glass Fuses
Socket fuses do not replace the fuses on your board or inline fuses.
Users will typically want to fuse with fast or medium blow fuses on the socket. Determining the correct fuse for a given configuration is beyond the scope of this documentation. The Oznium blog has an excellent guide on choosing a fuse size.
Note: Wiring and Connectors
Additional connectors and wiring may be needed, including for grounding your bed/frame to earth.
Core Configurations
Fasteners
Cap Screws
OmniBox is compatible with both M3 socket head cap screws (SHCS) and button head cap screws (BHCS). All links are to SHCS, where applicable. Power supplies are the exception; they use M4 screws.
HSI Builds
Cases with heat set inserts (HSI) use shorter fasteners in many locations. If using HSIs, an M3 soldering iron tip for heat set inserts is recommended.
Fastener BOM
The lists below are the minimum required for an OmniBox build. The Supported Parts section contains additional fasteners needed for each part.
Fasteners | Qty | UOM | Note |
---|---|---|---|
M3 x 6mm machine screws | 4 | ea | |
M3 x 8mm machine screws | 52 | ea | |
M3 x 10mm machine screws | 6 | ea | May use 12mm instead. |
M3 x 12mm machine screws | 8 | ea | |
M3 x 20mm machine screws | 2 | ea | |
#6 x 3/4" sharp point wood screws | 8 | ea | See note below. |
Fasteners | Qty | UOM | Note |
---|---|---|---|
Heat Set Insert, M3, 5mm O.D. x 4mm L | 24 | ea | See note below. |
M3 x 6mm machine screws | 24 | ea | |
M3 x 8mm machine screws | 36 | ea | |
M3 x 10mm machine screws | 2 | ea | May use 12mm instead. |
M3 x 12mm machine screws | 8 | ea | |
M3 x 20mm machine screws | 2 | ea | |
#6 x 3/4" sharp point wood screws | 8 | ea | See note below. |
Fasteners | Qty | UOM | Note |
---|---|---|---|
Heat Set Insert, M3, 5mm O.D. x 4mm L | 76 | ea | See note below. |
M3 x 6mm machine screws | 48 | ea | |
M3 x 8mm machine screws | 20 | ea | |
M3 x 10mm machine screws | 2 | ea | May use 12mm instead. |
M3 x 12mm machine screws | 8 | ea | |
M3 x 20mm machine screws | 2 | ea |
Note: Sharp Point Wood Screws
To substitute #6 x 3/4" with Metric screws, use M3 x 16mm or M3 x 20mm. Equivalent length machine screws can also be used if sharp point screws are unavailable.
The "Full HSI" base versions do not require wood screws.
Heat Set Inserts
Starting with v0.9.10, OmniBox exclusively uses "Voron-style" (M3 x 5mm O.D. x 4mm Length) heat set inserts. User-contributed parts that require inserts also use these inserts.
Power Switch
The Front Base comes in a "rocker" or "toggle" version.
You will need one of the following:
29mm x 10.5mm SPST snap-in rocker switch
Supports any power supply.
12mm or 12.5mm SPST toggle switch
Supported by smaller power supplies (e.g., Mean Well LRS-350).
Front Base Fans
The base can mount up to three concealed 40mm fans in the intakes. The below are needed to mount each fan:
Item | Qty | UOM | Note |
---|---|---|---|
40x40x10mm axial fan | 1 | ea | |
M3 x 16mm machine screws | 4 | ea | Some fans have recesses that instead use 10-12mm screws. |
Rear Main Body Fans
The rear body has two versions: one with dual fans and one without any.
This version can mount up to four (4) internal 40mm fans. Unoccupied fan mounts act as vents.
The list below is for each 40mm fan.
Item | Qty | UOM | Note |
---|---|---|---|
40x40x10mm axial fans | 1 | ea | |
M3 x 16mm machine screws | 4 | ea |
Tray and Panel Configurations
The Universal Bill of Materials includes the fasteners needed to mount panels and the the required trays. It does not include the hardware needed to attach electronics to those panels and trays.
The Supported Parts Overview has a full list of parts and mounting locations. Some configurations require additional fasteners or fans.
PSU Trays
Power supplies are notable for mounting to the tray with M4 x 6mm cap screws. See the list of supported PSUs for quantities.
Note: M4 Screws
Earlier OmniBox revisions required M4 BHCS. Both socket head and button head are now supported.
Lower Bay Trays
Each tray (short or long) uses four (4) M3 x 6mm screws to mount the tray. Additional materials are listed on the Lower Bay Components page.
Panel Mounted Parts
Panel mounts are a way of providing external connectors to internal parts, such as the MCU or CPU board USB ports. The Panel Mounts page discusses this in more detail.
MicroSD Reader Extensions
Each MCU tray on the MCU support page has a field for whether a short or long MicroSD card reader extension is necessary (if using one for the front panel).
